Description
Ethicon VicrylSutures are synthetic, sterile and absorbable surgical sutures.
These sutures are composed of polyglactin which is composed of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. These sutures are coated sutures and have a coating of calcium stearate.
Indications:
The use ofEthicon Vicryl Sutures is indicated for suturing sites where short term wound support is required like superficial skin and mucosa approximation. Ethicon Vicryl Sutures are absorbable sutures and their use is not indicated in tissues requiring prolonged extended approximation. The absorption ofEthicon VicrylSuturesbegins by loss of tensile strength followed by loss of mass by the means of hydrolysis of the suture.
