Ivoclar Heliosit Orthodontic (Set Of 3)
Features
Description
Heliosit Orthodontic is a light-cured, highly translucent luting composite for orthodontic brackets (made either of metal or ceramic material).
After the enamel has been etched with phosphoric acid (37%), Heliosit Orthodontic is applied to establish a sound bond (metal and ceramic surfaces have to be pre-treated according to manufacturer's directions).
Composition
The monomer matrix consists of urethane dimethacrylate,Bis-GMA and decandiol dimethacrylate (85 wt%). The fillerconsists of highly dispersed silicon dioxide (14 wt%).Additional contents are catalysts and stabilizers (1 wt%).

Direction of use
Clean enamel surface thoroughly.
Isolate with cotton rolls and blown air.
Etch enamel surfaces (e.g. with Total Etch for 30 to60 seconds). Heavily fluoridated enamel may have to beetched longer.
Note: The etched enamel surfaces should be of a whitechalky appearance. If this is not the case (e.g. becauseof contamination with saliva), etch again for another30 seconds.
Rinse and dry the etched enamel surfaces thoroughly.
Apply Heliosit Orthodontic to the undersurface of themetal bracket cleaned according to the instructions ofthe manufacturer.
Note: Prepare ceramic brackets according to theinstructions of the manufacturer.
Position the bracket on the tooth surfaces. Cure with ahalogen light (e.g. Astralis) from the cervical for20 seconds to fix the bracket in place. For completepolymerization, cure for another 20 seconds from theincisal. After the second polymerization phase, the bondstrength of the material is high enough to allow theremoval of excess and the exertion of immediate stressrequired for correcting the positioning of teeth.
